About BEN BLINK
Ben Blink uses his international, federal, and state-level policymaking experience to help his clients translate their business needs into concrete policy solutions. With years of experience working in public affairs at a Fortune 10 tech company as well as diverse roles in governors offices in multiple states, Ben is known for his collaborative approach and expert knowledge.
Ben served as policy advisor to Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to develop and implement his policy agenda related to transportation, economic affairs, automated vehicles, broadband internet development, government technology, and public-private partnerships. During Ben’s tenure, Governor Ducey signed precedent-setting legislation that memorialized the safe testing and commercialization of automated passenger and commercial vehicles. Ben also advised the Governor on his rural broadband development strategy, including the creation of a state broadband office, the opening of state highway rights-of-way to commercial broadband development, and investments to build broadband conduit along key routes that bring high-speed internet to rural Arizona.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ben’s work focused on designing and implementing more than $200 million in small business economic recovery programs as well as the development of executive orders and legislation that accelerated Arizona’s economic recovery. Ben also served as Governor Ducey’s local government liaison, holding daily virtual briefings for all of the state’s mayors and county supervisors to update them on the state’s COVID-19 response and answer questions.
Prior to his time in Government, Ben spent five years working on the business and public policy teams at Google Inc., where he helped found its international relations team. Ben built partnerships to combat internet censorship around the globe. His portfolio included internet governance, trade, and countering violent extremism, among other issues. Ben represented Google at various national and international multi-stakeholder forums.
Ben received his bachelor of arts from Carleton College and a masters in public policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where he served as a Dukakis Fellow working for the Alabama Governor’s Office.
